Open for new engagements

Engagement models

Services

Three ways to work together, depending on how much support you need and for how long.

Advisory

Ad-hoc guidance and architecture reviews — a second, senior opinion when a decision matters.

Who it's for
Teams that already have engineers, but want a sanity check before committing to a direction.
How it works
Async reviews, a working session, or a standing office-hours slot — whatever fits the question.
Commitment
A single session or a light recurring cadence. No long-term contract.

Projects

A bounded deliverable with a clear scope and end date — a migration, a platform build-out, a CI/CD overhaul.

Who it's for
Teams with a specific outcome in mind but not the in-house bandwidth or specialization to execute it.
How it works
Scoped upfront, delivered against a defined set of milestones.
Commitment
Fixed-scope engagement, typically weeks to a few months.

Fractional

Limited availability

An ongoing part-time senior lead for your platform or DevOps work.

Who it's for
Teams that need consistent staff-level judgment but aren’t ready for a full-time hire.
How it works
A recurring weekly or biweekly commitment, embedded with your team.
Commitment
Ongoing, minimum 3-month engagement, renewing quarterly thereafter.

To avoid conflicts of interest, I don't take on work for direct competitors of my clients or employer.

Where I go deep

Focus areas

Platform & DevOps
Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code that hold up under real production load.
Right-sized cloud infrastructure
Cloud architecture scaled to a small org’s actual needs, not enterprise defaults.
Reliability & cost optimization
Finding the unnecessary spend and the fragile spots before they become incidents.

Recent engagements

Independent work

A few of the things built through Breco Tech for small teams and nonprofits.

AWS migration & cleanupPre-launch startup
Took over fragile, half-documented Terraform after the startup lost its infrastructure engineer. Moved their apps from EC2 into a new EKS cluster, retired the old environments, and right-sized the nodes to actual usage. The AWS savings more than covered the cost of the engagement.
Silent-auction web appLocal nonprofit
Built and donated an app that kicked off the modernization of their annual silent auction. We moved from pen and paper to an intuitive, QR-code-based experience that included bidding, item catalog, and checkout support for the nonprofit's volunteers at the end of the night.
CI/CD pipelineSmall business
On a merge to main, GitHub Actions builds and pushes to ECR, then deploys to EKS with FluxCD. A full CI/CD pipeline so new features make it to customers as fast as they're built and tested.
Observability stackSmall business
Prometheus, Loki, and Grafana with dashboards and alerting, so the first sign of trouble is a page, not a customer.
